This trading card piece was a commission for the Armorvor Venjorun figure by TGB (TheGodBeast) Customs:

Matt Doughty from Onell Design (of Glyos fame) designed the figure and Jason Frailey sculpted it. Check out these great step-by-step shots of sculpting process:

I showed my wife my sketch for this illustration, and she said, "Oh, so they're going to do a cat now"? CAT?! That clearly wasn't the effect I wanted with a sketch that was supposed to be a wolf. But I could see her point, it was too cat-like. Big cats and wolves are actually kind of similar if you think about it, so I considered the main differences between them. Cats have sharper teeth and claws, but a shorter rostrum (nose). So, I extended the wolf's rostrum and dulled the teeth and claws a little and those few minor changes made all the difference.

God, those things look so badass. I got to play with a prototype sculpt at NYCC, and I REALLY hope Marty does a lion next!

I agree. I'd love to see more animals, especially dinosaurs. We'll see!

Actually, :iconlee-sherman:'s Courage Wolf comment reminds me of something. There's a couple LolGlyos threads on the net, and I mentioned "Courage Armovors" at one point. Would you mind is if I used the head shots from these to produce suitable Courage Armovor templates for use on the boards? I'd credit you and Marty, of course. Unless you wanna do them yourself :)

That sounds cool, but you should probably check with Marty since this is his baby. You can contact him via his website below:
